Aging is the most natural process and is a constant cause of worry! People want to retain their youthful looks and worry about their signs of aging, like fine lines, dark circles, age spots, dry skin, and hair thinning. Some people prefer going under the knife, but it isn’t an easy road; it comes along with its side effects.

As we grow older, our collagen production slows down, and the elasticity of youthful skin starts to fade away. The fibers responsible for firm and smooth skin weaken, creating saggy skin. The hue and cry around aging will last forever, but surprisingly, if you look at your five years old picture and the current one, it would be hard to pinpoint exact signs of aging. Do you know it is so subtle that you may be unable to pinpoint even the precise areas on your face? Usually, the face becomes thinner and may be able to see, but not for some. Your bone structure changes, and your facial fat disappears, leaving you with loose and saggy skin. It is possible to work on your vibrant and youthful look, and here are some of the things to start with:

Vitamin C

It has anti-aging properties and can improve the appearance and texture of your skin for a youthful look. It helps reduce the sun’s harmful effects on the skin and prevent future damage. It encourages collagen production to promote skin elasticity and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It also helps with hyperpigmentation and undereye circles. You must regularly use serum and apply pea-size after cleansing and toning.

Vitamin A (Retinol)

Wrinkles and freckles on the face occur due to sun exposure. Vitamin A can help fade away these dark spots and stimulate the production of new cells. You can find these over the counter.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal Fillers like Juvéderm® use hyaluronic acid, the sugar naturally found in the body, to soften facial wrinkles and restore volume. The purpose of these injectables is to fill in your wrinkles and depressions. When injected, the face swells but later smoothens and restores the volume. Usually, the results last between six and 12 months. When the effects wear away, you may schedule an appointment.

Microneedling

It involves pricking the face with tiny needles to make the skin look more youthful. The idea is to ensure that vitamin C or hyaluronic acid penetrates deep layers of the skin. During the procedure, the doctor first applies serum across the face, neck, and chest, then moves the device over the affected areas. The injuries due to needles promote collagen production and build new elastin.

BOTOX®/DYSPORT®/XEOMIN®

It is one of the most widely used to reduce fine lines and wrinkles on the face. When the muscles can’t move, the overlying skin doesn’t crease, creating a smooth and younger-looking appearance. It treats crow’s feet, forehead wrinkles, and frown lines. The effects last between three and six months. It treats wrinkles caused by sun damage but can produce great results when paired with other treatments.
