Thermage® Face

Thermage® works primarily on the third part of aging, sagging, which comes from collagen loss over time. It also works on the first part of aging to some degree, the surface fine lines, especially around the eyes and lips.

As we age we lose about 1% of our collagen thickness per year. Thermage® uses radio waves to heat deep collagen. This heat causes an initial collagen contraction which then stimulates the collagen to grow. The collagen growth occurs over a 6 month period to produce the final lifted result. It works well for people with mild to moderate skin laxity, generally ages 35 to 65, or for anyone of any age who has previously had a FACELIFT.

For most people a single treatment is all that is needed, although it may be repeated if needed. Thermage® typically lasts 2 to 5 years, but one is always ahead of where they would have been had they never had Thermage®. Thermage® helps sagging skin in the face to help lift the brows, lift the cheekbone, improve the laugh lines and reduce jowls. Both Dr. Riopelle and Donna Riopelle have had two Thermage® treatments, the first in 2003 and the second in 2006.
